Jacking, a fundamental cultural element of House culture, was born in Afro-American clubs, where dance is primarily a social experience—an exchange of energy and groove. It follows the lineage of movements and dynamics found in Afro-American dances, from jazz to funk to hip-hop. As such, it can enrich jazz dancers by deepening their connection to groove.
This workshop focuses on grounding, awareness of the center (hips, spine, axis), and connection to the floor, allowing dancers to fully feel the music and express their movement with confidence.
